Creative Critical Reflection: Audience Engagement and Media

My magazine is very reader-focused. The consumers of my product are the most important part of my business model, so by keeping their wants and desires in mind throughout the creation of Get Schooled, I have been able to create a final product that really expresses what my audience would want to engage with. I include a variety of articles and interviews that appeal to a wide range of students, but is also very personalized to a very specific group of students-the overachievers who want to go to college and are willing to buy a magazine about the application process because that is how devoted they are to a higher education. Engaging with my audience is one of the key elements of what makes my product so user-friendly and exciting for those who are passionate about college and their futures. My online magazine product will also be very user friendly and interactive. I will have a website similar to TIME, with individual articles that have been both included and not included in my print magazines, to allow an exploration of specific topic areas and a wider variety on more subject matters that will relate to and help a wider audience. My subscription will include three options, similar to The New Yorker. The first will be strictly print, the second will be strictly online, and the third will include both options in one combined offer of receiving both a print magazine quarterly, as well as a online subscription to my website (getschooled.com) that would include full, uninterrupted access to any article posted on this page.
