I have improved my table of contents at last! It looks substantially better and more visually appealing, and I am enthusiastic about the final result. I included multiple photos I took of a variety of students and locations. I scheduled and successfully completed a photoshoot this past weekend with two of the successful high school students pictured in my table of contents. I scheduled the photoshoot and interview with student-athlete Marguerite Andrich of Pineview. Marguerite also competes in Model UN, is a rower, and has her own charitable organization called "Bag Up the Love," which is an organization to assist homeless in receiving necessary supplies. Keara Escobedo is a theatre participant and is soon to be starring in her school's production of Annie as Annie. Keara manages to maintain an impressive workload and high GPA despite her long hours of rehearsals. She participates in the AICE program at Sarasota High School, which includes a large commitment to academics, as well as serious dedication to her studies and grades. Both students are pursuing promising out-of-state universities and have wise insight regarding maintaining a packed schedule, GPAs, and mental health. These impressive women are fantastic representations of high-achieving college students who will prove to be just as amazing college students. I also photographed Charles Karcher, the subject of my two page article, in which I took photos of him working on a debate case. His lunch is also sitting on the table, which is meant to be ironic since it is a Panera bag. The final photo featured of my finished table of contents is one of the many I took at a college fair. The final product also includes a different color for my text, a dark burgundy color that I also plan on using on my revised cover. It is fitting since it is the color of Harvard, the school featured on my cover, and it is also the color of Harvard's blades for their rowing team's oars, which is equally fitting since student athletes and rowers are one of the main focuses of Get Schooled. My updated table of contents looks substantially better, it is more colorful, visually appealing, and more fitting to my theme.

Three Revisions

I have now uploaded the updated versions of all four of my original pages. My three primary revisions included changing the color of my title and all other major texts, such as my table of contents, the name of my interviewee Charles Karcher in my two-page article, and the "Application Season Issue" subtitle that illustrates the importance of this specific issue. The much needed change in color has provided a nice alternative element to my magazine that represents a more diverse and interesting environment as opposed to the very unexceptional black and white draft that I first created. By adding a nice, dark, yet professional crimson red, it not only further elevated the visual appeal of my magazine, but it also drew a further connection between the prestigious Harvard University by using their signature color as my main theme. Target Audience Research Teen Vogue

Teen Vogue Condé Nast, the publisher of Vogue, The New Yorker, Wired, GQ, and Allure, publishes Teen Vogue.  The magazine is targeted for teenage girls between the ages of twelve and seventeen. It was first introduced to teens when the first issue was published in 2003, featuring Gwen Stefani. About 3.6 million readers are audience to the print magazines, including subscriptions and newsstands. The online website also generates an impressive audience. Social media accounts for 22.98% of website visits, proving that social media is a large part of the revenue of Teen Vogue. However, display advertising only accounts for 0.44% of website traffic, proving that teens prefer to search for websites or be referred to them by social media, specifically Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. Ads no longer prove to be an influential way of creating revenue, so it would be more appropriate to focus my ads on social media rather than print ads or webs...

Reoccurring Features

The sections that will appear in every issue will consist of "Wise words from an educator," "Ten Majors Worthy of Consideration" and "How To Be Successful." "Wise Words from an Educator" will contain a new interview with an educator every issue, containing advice not only for managing high school, but also for college. This will be helpful for all students working on getting their high school and college diplomas, but especially the wide range of students who plan to become educators themselves. By gaining knowledge from educators of all backgrounds and ages, my readers will be able to gain insight into what it really takes to become a teacher or professor.
